This was very interesting. Especially the importance of sunshine during the day and total darkness at night, just like it was in ages long ago.

During the pre-industrial days, before electricity and artificial light, human sleep cycles were deeply in sync with natural patterns of light and darkness. Back then, humans didn't work the night shift as often as they do today. Back then, they had healthier melatonin cycles, which could mean they had more frequent and insightful spiritual experiences. Middle-of-the-night intervals were reserved for prayer, meditation, and other quiet activities. Nowadays, we have places like Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps.
